Merit
joined the Robert E. Nolan Company in 1991. Prior to being named Vice
President and Director, Health Care Practice, he demonstrated his
effectiveness in developing and leading client engagements as a
consultant. He led successful engagements with a number of health
carriers, assisting them in improving service and profitability and
sustaining performance after the projects ended.
Before joining Nolan, Merit was employed by
Lincoln National Corporation from 1975 to 1990. At Lincoln, he held
various management positions including Regional Manager, Group and
Pension Products; Product Manager; and Vice President, where
he managed a group of 900 employees responsible
for Lincoln's managed care service operations. Merit is an
alumnus of Lincoln's Management Development program. While in this
program, he was assigned to a variety of management positions that
frequently involved developing marketing and operational strategy,
selecting firms for purchase, integrating new entities into the Lincoln
enterprise and turning around existing Lincoln business.
Merit holds a Master's degree in
International Management from the American Graduate School, Phoenix,
Arizona. He holds a BS degree from the University of Oregon, Eugene.
