NOLAN
SUPPORTS ANNUAL SPECIAL OLYMPICS GOLF CLASSIC
Nolan is proud to have sponsored the 13th Annual Golf Classic
benefiting the Lewisville ISD Special
Olympics on September 24. This represents the
4th year that Nolan has supported this annual event. In addition
to serving as a hole sponsor donor, several Nolan employees
gave their time to the cause.
Senior Vice President Rod Travers led a team of four golfers
in the best ball golf tournament that raised much needed money
for the cause. Scott Hunter (IT Manager) and Cynthia
Bock (Administrative Assistant) started the day early serving
as volunteers helping event organizers with set-up activities.
They multi-tasked throughout the day doing whatever needed to
be done, from unloading trucks and hanging plaques to filling
beverage coolers.
According to Cynthia, "It's a great feeling to work for a
company that supports local charities through more than just
monetary donations...giving your time in person is so important
as it helps organizations pull off large-scale events like these
where manpower is greatly needed. It makes you feel good to
meet and work with those you are helping."
This annual sponsorship is a perfect opportunity for Nolan
to support the Dallas area and its surrounding communities.
Plus, the Special Olympics organization is near and dear to
Nolan as its impact hits close to home. Sarah Hunter, daughter
of Nolan employee Scott Hunter, is an inspirational 19-year-old
cancer survivor who wears a prosthetic leg. She regularly competes
in Special Olympics swimming events. Scott says, "Sarah has
really benefited from being in Special Olympics since it allows
her to compete and be successful. She loves to compete and has
a lot of gold and silver medals that she has won. I am very
grateful that the Nolan Company has helped support this great
program."
Nolan is proud of its ongoing support to this worthy cause.
