February 2002: LOMA Customer Service ConferenceThis event was held February 25-27 in Orlando, Florida. Nolan CEO, Dennis Sullivan spoke about "Understanding Customer Value" and the
processes and strategies associated with it. He discussed the need for companies to focus on the basics, like Business Principles and Integrating
People, Process and Technology. Dennis walked the audience through the transition from Customer Satisfaction to Customer Value.
April 2002: EMSI Client ConferenceEugene Reagan, a Senior Consultant with Nolan, spoke at this event in
Waco, Texas. He addressed an audience of 65 professionals in
underwriting. He presented the exclusive findings from
Nolan's life insurance survey which was conducted in late 2001.
April 2002: LOMA Systems ForumThe Annual Systems Forum was a hit in Hollywood, FL. Nolan sponsored
the official 2002 Systems Forum Thermal Tumbler Mug for all 650 attendees. The
conference was very informative and centered around the theme of
integrating business processes with technology. Nolan client,
UICI Insurance Center, delivered a superb speech on a rapid solution
to HIPAA compliance. We welcome the 2003 Systems Forum to San Antonio,
Texas.
April 2002: BAI Branch Delivery ConferenceNolan President, Bob Grasing, spoke at this event in Chicago, IL. Mr. Grasing addressed the
audience on "Measuring Branch Efficiency." His speech showcased best
practices, as well as results taken from Nolan's annual
Efficiency Ratio Benchmarking Study.
May 2002: LOMA Policyowner Service SeminarNolan Chairman, Ben DiSylvester, presented the recent findings from "The
Future of the Life Insurance Industry: A Strategic View." The survey
results were featured in the March issue of Best's Review.
The LOMA event was held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
May 2002: LIMRA Client Management ConferenceNolan SVP Technology, Rod Travers, spoke on the topic of Customer
Relationship Management.
June 2002: IASA Educational Conference and Business ShowNolan CEO, Dennis Sullivan, discussed the future of the life
insurance industry and strategies for success. Nolan CIO, Rod Travers,
talked to audiences about how to "demystify technology."
September 18-20, 2002: LOMA Emerging TechnologyNolan was proud to be a Silver Sponsor of this premiere insurance and technology event.
Rod Travers, Senior Vice President, discussed how insurance companies
can evaluate, select, justify, assimilate, and operationalize "emerging"
technology.

FISERV Client ConferenceInsurance Practice Director, Ed Fenwick, discussed the "Future of
the Life Insurance Industry" study results to the FISERV audience in
Baltimore, MD.
October 22, 2002: GuideWire Claims Forum
Larry Wood, Senior Consultant, discussed "What's Really Going on in
Claims Organizations." This presentation shared some of the findings
and observations from Nolan's consulting work and discussed the
implications for claims operations today.
October 23-25, 2002: AMCF 56th Annual MeetingDennis Sullivan, CEO, was the planning committee chairman for this
consulting industry event. This year's meeting was held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Boston, MA.
December 9-11, 2002: Implementing Regulatory Compliance for HIPAA Through TechnologyNolan's Vice President of Health Care, Merit Smith, identified early
warning signs for HIPAA project risks, discussed key strategies for
mitigating risks to your HIPAA plan and showed examples of how to manage
the "Politics of Project Risk."
